The funny thing about EA FC 27 is that it already feels like everyone's playing it, even though we're still stuck reading leaks, screenshots and half-trusted posts. Ultimate Team chatter is everywhere, and players are already thinking about squads, trading, and whether they'll need FC 27 Coins early just to keep pace with the first market rush. The rumour that's got older FIFA fans talking, though, is Alex Hunter. If he really shows up again, that's not just a throwaway cameo. For anyone who spent time with The Journey, seeing him inside a new hub called The Grounds would feel properly weird, in a good way.



Alex Hunter could make The Grounds feel alive
The Grounds sounds like EA's attempt to make the menus feel less like menus. That's the part I'm curious about. If Hunter is standing around handing out drills, that's fine, but a bit safe. If he's tied to objectives, story moments, or even a special card path, then people will actually care. You can picture it already: daily training, skill challenges, maybe a few little cutscenes before a reward pops. It doesn't need to be a full story mode again. Just enough personality to stop Ultimate Team feeling like spreadsheets and squad screens all day.



New Icons are going to start arguments
The leaked Icon names are doing exactly what you'd expect. Sergio Aguero is the easy one. Most players won't argue too much there, because his Premier League record speaks for itself, and in-game he'd be a nightmare in the first month. Sharp turns, quick shots, near-post finishes, all that stuff. Pepe and Raphael Varane are more divisive. Some fans see them as Icon material. Others would rather see them as Heroes. I get both sides, honestly. Varane in his prime was ridiculous, and Pepe had the kind of career that defenders don't always get enough credit for.



Pack animations might actually be worth watching
The leaked walkout change sounds a bit mad, but also very EA. Instead of the usual tunnel scene, the talk is about drones flying above a stadium and revealing the nation, league or position before the player steps out from a VIP-style area. It could be cheesy. It probably will be. Still, people love a good pack reveal when it's done right. If the timing is sharp and the clues don't drag on forever, it could bring back that proper "wait, who is this?" feeling that older walkouts used to have.



Collectors may have a real reason to care
The holographic card idea is the one that could change habits the most. Serial-numbered items, digital signatures, rare limited versions - that's not just about chemistry and pace anymore. It pulls in the collector crowd. A card marked 1 of 75 would have value even if the player wasn't meta. Bringing back a Collection Book would fit that perfectly, especially if every packed item stays recorded after you sell it or put it into an SBC. Add better duplicate handling, and people may spend less time wasting cards and more time building sets, chasing rewards, or using cheap FIFA 27 Coins to react faster when the early market starts moving hard.
